Hello, I’m Julie Peel and I am proud to be your Mercer County Recorder. In January 2023, I was Acting Recorder before being appointed by the Republican Central Committee to finish Angie King’s remaining term.
As a lifelong Mercer County resident, a Parkway Local School graduate, I earned my degrees from Wright State University-Lake Campus.
My husband, Barry, and I are raising our four children, and we are kept busy volunteering for various activities and their sporting events. Our family is active in St. Teresa Church, Rockford.
I understand small business. My family is involved in four small businesses in Mercer County. I contribute behind the scenes in some way to each one.
My Recorder Experience:
- Nine Years as Deputy Clerk.
- One Year as Appointed Recorder.
- With my 10+ years of experience in the Mercer County Recorder’s office, I can assist in any area.
- I truly enjoy working and serving the public as I represent Mercer County.
Projects as the 2023 Recorder:
- Finishing the historical Mortgage project. This project assures those documents are all confidential and not viewable to the public.
- Resolving issues with our recording software.
- Updating our Fraud Alert Notification. The public can now sign up for our Fraud Alert Notification and see when something has been recorded in our office.
Why I love working for Mercer County:
- Helping the public with their genealogy searches.
- Assisting families record Century Farm documents experience.
- Acquainting myself with our veterans when recordings their DD214s.
